Amatus (the loved one) is made with very ripe grapes from old Monastrell vines. They are cold macerated carefully in open tanks for a high concentration of colour, extracting the dried fruit flavours. Very tasty on the palate, sweet without being cloying, it pairs marvellously with desserts, tarts and ice cream, but also with cheese, foie and pâté. Amatus is the perfect cherry on top of any successful celebration to have everyone raising their glasses! Recommended serving temperature: between 8°C and 10°C.
Being in a lesser-known appellation in South-East of Spain, Bodegas Bleda provide their wines in a very reasonable price as well as exciting quality. The grapes are all cultivated in organic practice, although the wines are not organic certified. The resulting wines are with good concentration, balanced acidity and complex.
