Divus is the premium wine made by mostly ungrafted Monastrell with average age of 70 years. These vines are exquisite and precious as replanting of ungrafted vines is forbidden. This plot of old vines has the lowest yield in the whole region, giving them extraordinary quality. It expresses ripe dark berries and plums with layers of spices, cinnamon, cedar wood, toast and violet. The medium plus body is filled with rich intensity and good structure, finished with a touch of minerality and chalk. It is a wine with surprising concentration and structure, ample yet balanced, opulent and round.
Being in a lesser-known appellation in South-East of Spain, Bodegas Bleda provide their wines in a very reasonable price as well as exciting quality. The grapes are all cultivated in organic practice , although the wines are not organic certified. The resulting wines are with good concentration, balanced acidity and complex.
