Details
The stunning, ripe dark berries and plums on the nose are attractively dressed and deliver a wealth of assertively rich and juicy dark-fruit flavors on the palate, in balanced and elegant yet powerful style. The best Reserve de la Comtesse for some time.
Background
This is the second wine from the prestigious 2nd Growth, Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The name of the Chateau was born with the marriage of the Rauzan and Pichon-Longueville family. In 1694, The Estate was given to Therese de Rauzan as a dowry when she married Jacques de Pichon-Longueville, given the name Pichon-Longueville to the Estate; In 1850, descendant of the family, Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville divided the property into five shares to his children. One of the sisters, Virginie de Pichon Longueville married to Charles Henri, Comte de Lalande. She then managed the Estate under the name of Comtesse de Lalande, and given this name to the Estate.
